TANGO

As a tango singer, Juan Carlos Tajes has made an indelible name.
He performed with “El Choclo” and was one of the founders of “Tango Cuatro”.
He was a guest singer of the “Sexteto Canyengue” and of the Tango Orkest OTRA.
He appeared as a soloist in the musical theater productions “El Arte del Tango” with the bandoneonist Roberto Alvarez and “Tango Tango”.
With the bandoneonist Alfredo Marcucci he sang in his orchestras “Veritango” and “Tango al Sur”.
In 1997 he could be heard in Japan as a singer of the “Malando Tango Orchestra”.
Several singing programs with Hernán Ruiz and Las Guitarras del Plata.
His programs on tango and poetry in collaboration with pianist Piet Capello have become a household name in the Netherlands.
In 2001 he produced the shows Tango Amigo, with Las Guitarras del Plata and guests, and Libertango with the pianist Christa Mierás and the bandeon player, arranger Christiaan van Hemert.
He has recorded three new compositions in collaboration with pianist/composer Margreet Markerink.
In February 2002 he sang at the Stads Banquet in honor of his Royal Highness Prince Willem Alexander and Princess Máxima.
He then participates in the Tango Royaal tour with Carel Kraaienhof.
On May 5, 2005 he was invited to participate in the Freedom Concert at the Museumplein in Amsterdam with a program about André Hazes, where he performed songs by André.
He is working on a new program with the pianist/composer Wim Warman, in which, in addition to the original tangos he performs, songs by Paolo Conte and others will also be sung.
As a vocalist he has also performed with the Brabants Orkest, the North Holland Philharmonic Orchestra, the Amsterdam Promenade Orchestra, the Ebony Band and the Nieuwe Ensemble (German Tango van
Mauricio Kagel).
In addition to concerts in Europe, he has also performed in Montreal, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, and Japan.
